ETH Liquidations Hit $294M as All-Time High Approaches

Ethereum short liquidations have reached massive levels as the cryptocurrency approached its November 2021 all-time high of $4,878. Nearly $300 million in total liquidations occurred, with over $250 million targeting short positions.

The second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap climbed within 4% of breaking its record price on Wednesday morning. Ethereum has surged 52.7% in just one month, currently trading around $4,694 after a 7.9% daily gain.

Short liquidations on Ethereum accounted for nearly half of all crypto market liquidations on Wednesday. In contrast, only $41.5 million worth of Bitcoin-related positions were liquidated during the same period.
