Tether has appointed Bo Hines, former Trump administration crypto advisor, as strategic advisor for U.S. strategy. Hines helped shape the GENIUS Act during his White House tenure and departed last week.

The move signals Tether’s intent to strengthen its U.S. presence. CEO Paolo Ardoino said Hines’ legislative expertise will be invaluable as the company expands into the American market.

Tether has reinvested nearly $5 billion in the U.S. economy through Tether Investments. USDT remains the dominant stablecoin with a $167 billion market cap, compared to Circle’s USDC at $68 billion. The company plans to launch a U.S.-specific dollar-backed stablecoin in late 2025 or early 2026.
